Containerizing PHP Applications with Docker
Docker is a lightweight virtualization and containerization technology that is rapidly changing the way applications are developed, packaged, and deployed. This talk will present a beginner's introduction to Docker for PHP developers. We'll start with a high-level overview of containers and how Docker helps to manage them. Then we'll learn how to containerize a PHP application for local development and how to deploy it to production. We'll see how Docker containers can be a useful alternative to Vagrant VMs as a solution to the problem of development and production parity (a.k.a. the "it works on my machine" problem).
